Pedro Lujano

Drawn toward visual arts as a fascination, Pedro Lujano has experimented with various art media such as painting, sculpture, glass, technical drawing, publicity design, small scale models, colored pencil, soft pastel, stained glass, fired glass painting, and jewelry.

As a graduate of the National Institute of Fine Art School of Design in Mexico City, Mexico, Pedro Lujano received his B.F.A. in 1993 with honors for his work in small scale models and his efforts to conceptually fuse art and industrial design.

Since his residency in the United States, Pedro Lujano has continued to experiment creatively in various media and ultimately found his niche in glass working, employing his own techniques in glass painting in addition to developing unique fused glass jewelry art.

Previously, Pedro worked as top painter for an Iowa stained glass company, creating intricate paintings of the human figure on glass which was then fired in a kiln and incorporated into largescale stained glass for religious and public institutions nationwide.  In addition to developing an impeccable technique in glass painting of the human figure, Pedro also completed restoration projects of Tiffany windows and/or created new painted windows for organizations in Tampa FL, Long Beach CA, Dubuque IA, Kenosha WI and Normal IL, to name a few locations that currently display his work.

His highest desire is to bring forth a connection, a communication of feeling that resonates his perception of the world. Through his art, Pedro Lujano says, “I communicate my feelings and visually describe how I would like the world to be; I can manifest what pleases or displeases me about life, simultaneously combining this dual language and transforming it into a universal one.”
